As you’ve all heard by now… we are working on CloseBot V2. We have been working on CloseBot V2 since October 2024 (over a year and a half ago). 7 months ago we made the decision to stop making updates to V1 (soon to be called CloseBot Classic) in an effort to expedite the release of V2. We doubled down on speed when we raised funds in December 2024, putting most of that money into engineering.
Original Plan
In March, we released the official expected timeline for the V2 release. Even with our team focused on the release goals, we’ve slightly missed our mark. Here was the original plan:
February 1 – Alpha: Alpha users gain access to non-production CloseBot V2.
April 7 – Production Alpha: CloseBot V2 features established, production stability finalized, billing settings finalized, and support system designed.
April 30 – Seniority Beta: Migration button unlocks for qualified users.
May 31 – V2 Public Launch: The signup page for V1 will only work for V1 Super User accounts. All other users will be directed to the V2 signup page.
Adjusted Plan
CloseBot has always focused on our pillars of Innovation, Community, and Quality. We’ve made adjustments to our timeline where appropriate, so we don’t sacrifice our supportive community or quality. It’s more important to us that we provide a high-quality, functional, seamless experience than rush a product to you with known issues and little to no support. Here is our adjusted plan:
February 1 → February 7 – Alpha: Finished 6 days later than expected
April 7 – Production Alpha: Reached this milestone on target
April 30 → May 11 – Seniority Beta: Reached this milestone 11 days later than expected, unlocking the button slowly while fixing issues during individual migrations
May 31 → June 9 – V2 Public Launch: Based on the delay in starting Seniority Beta and the current pace of migrations, we foresee the full public release taking place in mid-June.
Sprint Transparency
CloseBot has been working over the past several weeks in focused sprints. These show our areas of concentration during specific timeframes:
April 28 – May 2 – Migration Sprint: During this sprint, the CloseBot team established our user interface and backend architecture to enable one-click V1-to-V2 bot migration. At the same time, it became clear we needed to finish migrating our internal CRM from GoHighLevel to HubSpot. This unexpected requirement made things extra tricky.
May 3 – May 12 – Scheduled Cleanup: We knew the migration sprint would reveal areas needing refinement for large-scale migrations. During this time our support system was configured to manage both V1 and V2. We ensured V2 billing settings were adjusted to handle upgrades, downgrades, etc. We also added controls to restrict site access based on a user’s plan type.
May 13 – May 16 – Affiliate Sprint: Our affiliates are incredibly important to us. This sprint is dedicated to setting up affiliate tracking for V2. When completed, affiliates will see their portal within their CloseBot account without needing to log in elsewhere. The V2 affiliate link will be available after this sprint, although sharing will be restricted until public launch.
May 17 – May 21 – Documentation and Site Copy Sprint: We’d be silly to open up full migration without an excellent help library. Our wonderful support team (of humans) would hate us for that 😂. During this sprint, we’ll create around 50 new help docs for the V2 library (adding to the 10+ already published). We’ll also review the entire CloseBot V2 portal to ensure the copy is clear, consistent, and accurate.
May 22 – May 27 – Customer Journey + New Home Page: We’ll finish setting up our internal HubSpot CRM with updated onboarding emails for V2—covering welcome messages, onboarding calls, payment confirmations, news, etc. We’ll also finalize the new website that will launch as part of V2’s grand reveal.
May 27 – June 9 – Cleanup Sprint: We’ll address real-time feedback from early users and work closely with our support team to fix issues as they arise. Iterating early is key to a successful product launch.
June 9 – Launch Party (TBD): The V1 home page will be replaced with the V2 home page. From this point forward, V1 will be referred to as CloseBot Classic 👏. All new sign-ups will go to V2, and all CloseBot Classic users will be able to migrate at any time via the sidebar button.
Final Notes
Our community has been incredible. Your excitement for this update is overwhelming, and we’re taking great care to execute it well. We’d rather be a little late and make a great impression than rush and create unnecessary pain for you and our support team.
Remember, the core foundation of CloseBot remains the same: Innovation, Community, and Quality. Our launch day may have changed, but our standards never will.
