As most of you know, we’ve got a massive week ahead with the launch of CloseBot V2. But today’s update isn’t just about the product, it’s about the people. Turns out, we will have more users on this journey with us than we initially planned.
CloseBot has officially acquired ZappyChat. Hear directly from Bryce here
This has never been a competition, but a focus on building the best possible tool for as many users as possible. That’s why we are thrilled to have more people join this community and family.
Why This Happened – Honoring Matt’s Vision

Matt Deseno, Founder of ZappyChat
ZappyChat has always been a tool with heart. Built with care, backed by a loyal customer base, and focused on helping teams thrive. Matt Deseno is a man of heart, so it’s no surprise that that’s spilled into the community he’s made with ZappyChat.
But after years of building, shipping, and supporting, Matt Deseno and the ZappyChat team found themselves at a crossroads. Life priorities shifted. And instead of fading away quietly, Matt did what great founders do, he looked out for his users.
In software every company either dies or is acquired. Some companies go decades without facing this end, while others last a few years. When Matt saw this coming for ZappyChat, he wanted to make sure ZappyChat customers were cared for and not tossed aside. But he didn’t want them to get passed off to any old company… he made sure they got the best possible next chapter with someone he fully trusted.
Hear directly from Matt here:
We’re honored he chose CloseBot to carry that torch. 🙏
Why CloseBot?
Matt wasn’t just looking for a buyer. He was looking for a company who would share in his priority of taking care of the users… honoring promises, building trust.
Why CloseBot? According to Matt, it came down to five things:
- A shared obsession with customer success
- A product that’s easy to use and battle-tested in the real world
- Overlapping features and use cases
- A clear vision (and velocity) for what’s next
- And—his words, not ours—“he just liked us as people”
We like you too, Matt!
What ZappyChat Users Can Expect
We’re committed to making this feel like an upgrade, not a disruption. Here’s what we’ve put in place to make the transition smooth and supportive.

This move makes us stronger. ZappyChat users are passionate, smart, and deeply invested in getting results. Their energy, ideas, and edge-case requests will only sharpen CloseBot for all of us.
More feedback. More firepower. Faster growth.
We love it.
Grateful, Humbled, and Fired Up
A huge thank you to Matt Deseno for his trust, his product, and his leadership. We’re pumped that this will give him the space to pursue his personal mission to be “famous in his own home.”
To the ZappyChat community, we’re glad you’re here. You’re in good hands, and we’re going to prove it.
You’ll hear more from us soon with live walkthroughs, guides, and migration help.
